I've been sample digging again, and will continue to do so whenever I can the coming months to make sure there's at least one other Beat Cd coming this year. Enjoying a lot of good records!
I really have to program some new drum sounds and patterns as well.
I usually construct a new drum loop (or tweak an old one) for each new beat, but I find it useful to have some pre-made patterns laying around as well. I love playing around with sample melodies and then adding different types of pre-made drum patterns to hear how it sounds.
For the past months, I've been programming all my drums on the computer, and although I've made a few loops that I really like, listening back to some of my older beats made me really want to go back to live programming. Time to dust off the old MPC.
As for collaborations, I'm sending some stuff out right now and might do some tracks with Chattabox and some with Baron soon. Also been talking with
Stenniz from Stenniz/Lokura Music recently to contribute some instrumentals to his projects.
